Home Remedy For Getting Rid of Acne ?

If you have acne and are wondering if there is a home cure for acne - a home remedy that actually works, then you might find quite a bit of help on this page ...

To start with, there are several myths about acne - that acne is caused by stuff like too much chocolate, coffee, fried foods, a bad hygiene and more. You might do well to keep in mind that these are myths - there is no scientific proof behind these.

But some of these might exacerbate acne ... and when you are trying to make any home cure for acne work well, you might want to stay on a diet that has lots of natural food - fresh vegetables and fruits - and avoid fried foods, coffee and more.

Also, though hygiene - or lack of it - may not actually cause acne, you might want to control dandruff and wash your hair at least thrice a week or possibly more frequently. Controlling dandruff may control breakouts.

Some acne, like Acne vulgaris, often causes more than physical scarring among millions of teens worldwide. But like any other bodily manifestation, acne too has a cure. Sure, there are a wide array of them available in the marketplace to help you choose from, but truth be told, acne is not a permanent condition and acne cures that work actually exist.

The true cause of acne may however be hormonal changes in your body that cause the production of excessive oil from the oil glands or the sebaceous glands. In a few other cases, acne maybe caused when the pores on the skin are blocked or when the sebaceous glands itself are victims of some infection. In order for the acne cures to work, they must first target the true problem. Acne cures that target the infection of the sebaceous glad may not work very well in a case when the acne is a result of blockage of the hair ducts. Like with many other illnesses, an acne cure too must target and work well to correct the root cause of the problem.

There are various types of acne cures available in the market. First, there are topical acne cures. These usually comprise some creams or lotions that can be applied directly to the affected area. Topical acne cures usually include topical antibiotics, lactic acid glycolic acid and gluconic acid. In a few cases, such acne cures may also involve an active ingredient like azelaic acid cream and in cases where the acne is severe, sotret and accutane may be active ingredients. Apart from these topical cures, there also exist many oral acne cures. Usually several drugstores and chemists do have a large variety of oral acne cures readily available.

Now, before using any of the various acne cures, it might be a very good idea to see a dermatologist who can pin point the cause of your acne - what's causing it in you and also prescribe a suitable treatment just for you.
