Will Accutane or some other acne pill clear acne ?
But the problem is that though one of the more commonly used acne pills - Accutane - leads to significant improvement in acne in about a year, it has major side effects that would make anybody reconsider the wisdom in using it to clear acne. But that's not to say accutane doesn't work well - by many accounts, accutane is very, very effective at clearing up acne ... that's not the problem. The problem is that accutane has a huge list of side effects, many that no one in their right senses would want to risk having ... Side effects of accutane include depression, headaches, damage to the liver, and many, many more. But the possibly the most dangerous side effect is it's tendency to cause birth defects. A woman who is pregnant or is planning to have children soon should not take accutane - the risks may be too great to ignore. While it is not known whether a man taking accutane can cause birth defects in his children, women are usually advised to steer clear of it when they are either pregnant of planning to get pregnant. And another acne pill is minocycline which also seems to be fairly effective, but it too has several side effects. The real question may not be whether there is a magic pill for acne. The real question is whether these are really necessary to heal acne. Acne may not be caused by a condition of the sebaceous glands as is more commonly believed - acne may actually be caused by a less-than-perfect liver that is over worked and over loaded with toxins in the food and the environment ... The liver is a very important organ - perhaps as important as the kidneys - that somehow doesn't get a lot of attention. It's the unsung hero of the human body that quietly performs tasks crucial to the health of the body ... The liver cleans the blood of the chemical toxins that enter the bloodstream - toxins mainly from the food and the environment. But the truth is with today's lifestyles, most people are overloading their livers with loads of toxins - chemicals from prescription medicines, air pollution, milk and dairy products, meats, processed foods and maybe more ... A diet that is heavily loaded with dairy products, meats, processed and junk foods puts a lot of stress on the liver. The result is that a lot of the chemicals may be left in the bloodstream - chemicals that will then have to be removed by the skin, kidneys or the colon ... And acne may be what appears when the skin discharges the impurities. Acne pills may not be the best solution for acne. Surely, a diet rich in fresh fruits, raw vegetables and nuts and free of meats and junk food should be one easy way to keep your face and body clear of acne. And an occasional liver cleanse should be of immense help too.
